Introduction
I am working for a nonprofit organization as a regional manager and one of my responsibilities is to deliver trainings to the managers in my region for all the new platforms.
Last year, we transitioned from Salesforce to CM Hub and I would like to use this example, adapted to my new learnings.
Learning Scenario
Audience: Chapter Managers in my region
Description: the training session aims to educate Chapter Managers to navigate the new Chapter Management Hub.
Objectives:
The objectives of this training session are:
1. Provide an overview of the Chapter Management Hub.
2. Demonstrate how to access, review, update, and manage the system.
Pre-requisites:
Recommended pre-reads or self-paced training resources for the session.

Learning Approach
Experiential Learning
The workshop is based on the experiential learning, teaching the chapter managers how to navigate and use the tools of the new platform they have to use.
The learners are actively involved and they can reflect on their experience using the platform.
The workshop starts with an introduction with the platform description and the goals to be achieved by the participants by the end.
The course is scaffolded by modules, each of it including lecture, real time demonstration and practice. Participants can volunteer to share their screen and try to find different information on the platform.
At the end of the course, there are breakout rooms and each group has to work together and identify the tasks: reports or dashboards or recordings. Each group assigns one person to share the results in the main room.
During the course, the trainer uses the hand signal, one to five, and depending on how many hands with less than five, the trainer decides to repeat the module.
The summative assessment takes place after each module. The trainer has after each module a quiz poll with a few questions on module and tabs description and how/where some specific information can be found.
In this case, it is an authentic assessment, because it is learner-centered and learner driven, it includes task-based activities, showcases the skills a learner has gained throughout a module and requires problem-solving skills. The participants are more engaged and the course is more meaningful and worthwhile.
The learning path is real time, the learner can practice on real situations. The workshop provides reflection time social learning with peers.
The learner observes, practices and communicates with their peers when solving the task.
Constructivism
The participants learn from the trainer the theory and the practice. They can brainstorm and share their results after the breakout rooms.
Andragogy
The learner has an intrinsic motivation to attend the workshop to learn the new platform by real time experience and to solve the immediate problem: using a new platform.
